How to Complete the IELTS Listening Answer Sheet Properly
Golden Rule: Read the instructions carefully. Do exactly what the instructions say.
If you are given a sentence to complete, the sentence must be grammatically correct.
If there is gap fill say they give you a sentence and part of the sentence is missing , you have to add a word or two if you add in a word and the whole sentence is gramatically incorrect if the grammar is incorrect then the whole answer is wrong even if you think the answer is correct it is wrong . read the whole sentence at the end if the grammar is wrong the whole answer is wrong so when you add in your answer to a sentence read it all and if it is incorrect then it must be wrong so you have to go back and check your answers again
If one letter is missing or in the wrong place, your whole answer will be wrong. Even if it looks 99% like the correct answer it is wrong. The spelling has to be exactly correct .
- Capital letters
Place names, addresses, business names etc. all need to have capital letters. If the answer was London , you write it without capital letter “london “ it is wrong. The trick is use all capital letters
- Word counts
No more than two words . If you use 3 words you know a fact that it is the wrong answer.
